PENGUINS v BASINGSTOKE CANCELLED!!!!!! - The Seniors were due to have a summer friendly match against the Bears this Sunday (11th July). But has now been cancelled due to the ice not being fully frozen. It was disappointing not to play as this would of been the last time some of the Penguins would be able to play as a Penguin as they move on to pastures new.
PENGUINS AT THE BRETTON FESTIVAL - to help promote the club and also raise monies the teams will be at Bretton Park on Saturday 17th July. Pop down and say hi. Maybe buy somthing from our stall or take away a leaflet to become a Penguin.

Last year the Penguins lost a dear friend to the team, Alex Spooner. The colleagues she worked with at the local Prison Service got together and presented the Juniors with monies raised from a collection. The monies will go towards spare kit to encourage new players to try the sport that Alex loved. The Seniors were also presented with a lovely trophy that will be awarded every season to the highest point scorer.
GRASS ROOTS FUNDING - The Under16s team have been fortunate to secure funds for their away shirts. An bid has been successful and that will now complete the U16s team kit.

The Senior Penguins next match is on 21st Feb away at Oxford against Oxford University. If you are unable to make the match the period scores will be updated via wap'.

FIRST MATCH!!!! The first match of the season was a disappointing one for the team with a defeat at Milton Keynes. Although the team was greatful for ex Penguin netminder Angela Cox (right) coming out of retirement to stand in for the injured Mandi Ferleyko.
PENGUINS AT THE BRETTON FESTIVAL - We will have a stall to promote the team and also a carboot stall there to raise funds for shirts. If you are in the area please come over and say hi. Its from 1pm on the Rugby grounds by Bretton Park.
END OF SEASON AWARDS - Congratulations to those players that won at the EoS Awards Party on Saturday. Before the formality of the presentations the Penguins spent time Toboganning on the slop at Tallington.

PENGUINS SAY A FINAL FAREWELL TO TEAM MATE Tuesday saw the Penguins saying goodbye to Alex Spooner who's short life came to a tragic end in June. She will be missed by all and never be forgotten.
REST IN PEACE SPOONER - This weekend saw the passing of Alex Spooner, although now playing for a Premier side this season she played for the Penguins for 8 seasons and was there right in the beginning as a 14 year old girl. We watched you grow up. You had your moments but you will certainly be remembered for all of the right reasons. You were a true Penguin, will be missed, RIP x
A gathering was held on the 24th June at the Rink and there was a great turn out, players and friends past and present came to pay their respects to Alex. A minutes silence was then held before the Penguins training session.
2nd MAY - MATCH CANCELLED Saturdays home game for the Under 16's against Streatham has been cancelled due to the visitiors not having a team. The match on Sunday 3rd at Streatham is still on as planned.
END OF THE SEASON for both Seniors and Under 16s. And both finished the last match with a good result. The Under 16s played well against Streatham and they were rewarded with a couple of goals. The Seniors won their last home match against Oxfod City Midnight Stars, but on a downside, ended up with a injured netminder who despite tearing knee ligament stayed on for the remaining 25mins of the match and saw them achieve victory.
AGM will take place on the 20th May after training, all players and parents are welcome.
PENGUINS SENIORS have been entered into the Swindon Tournament for the first time in eleven years on the first time of asking. This is over the weekend of 20-21st June.
SPONSORSHIP is being sought for the Under 16's new away shirts and to replace the Seniors shirts which some are over 10 years old. If you feel you would be able to help contribute, however large or small to the team(s) it would be greatly appreciated by all concerned and you will be richly rewarded. PENGUINS WIN 7 POINT OUT OF 8 The Penguins played Oxford for the fourth and final time this season and despite a draw the week before managed to use home advantage and although a short bench due to unjury managed to come out on top.
GOOD RESULT FOR THE U16's. The Penguins junior side went to take on Bracknell for the fourth time this season and manged to concede the fewest goals since they started playing at the start of the season. Despite many players not playing hockey this time last year there continues to be improvement with every match.
NEW SHIRTS CHRISTENED WITH A DRAW The Penguins Seniors displayed their new away shirts for the first time in a match on Saturday when they played Oxford University. A good match saw the Penguins hold on to a draw despite having a two goal lead slip.
YOUNG PENGUINS FIND THEIR GOAL! Congratulations to the Penguins U16's team who took on visitors Bracknell Bees and managed to get the first ever goal for the team, and not content with one they got three! A great team performance was well rewarded!
PENGUINS U16's HAVE A RUN OF 3 MATCHES The Penguins U16's are start 3 matches in 3 weeks. And started the run in Streatham on the 25th Jan, and finish at home against Bracknell on the 8th Feb. We wish the girls the best of luck for all of the matches.
HERE COME THE GIRLS - The U16's played their first home match on the 13th December against Bracknell Queen Bees U16's. A great effort was put into their first match and the supporters were rewarded with an improved scoreline from the last time these two teams met. They were wearing their brand new shirts funded by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.
SENIOR SHIRTS - The Seniors also were able to show off their new away shirts.


CHRISTMAS MEAL - The Senior Penguins had their annual Festive Chinese Meal on the 16th December at the Fragrance. A great time was had by all.
THE PENGUINS WIN TWO OUT OF TWO The Penguins went to OXford wanting to complete a "double header" against Oxford University. They knew it was going to be tough and they were right. But the determination paid off and they were rewarded with another 2 points.
PENGUINS WIN AT HOME The Penguins are at home to the Oxford Uni side this coming Saturday. This will be the first encounter as these two teams will play each other twice home and away rather than the usual once. The first return leg will be the following Saturday.
NEW SEASON, NEW LEAGUE, NEW TEAM. This season sees many changes with the new Penguins Under 16's team joining the southern league and the Senior Penguins playing in the newly restructures Midlands League.
The U16 Girls team enables the junior girls to play hockey in an all female environment without having to wait till their 16's birthday. They will play in the Southern league. The Senior Penguins will now play in the restructured Womens league, which sees Division 1 split into a balanced north, midlands and southern league, instead of the previous lop sided north and south.
PENGUINS WENT TO WREKIN It was the first match of the season when these two teams met and 2 months on a feeling of deja vu was happening with the first period ending 1-0 the same as before.
PENGUINS AT HOME TO MK FALCONS This Saturday see's the Seniors Penguins back on the ice after a break of a month since their last match. It will be a tough match as MK won quite comfortably when they took o Oxford City the other weekend. Entry is free and everyone is welcome, face off is at 6:30pm.
HAPPY 18th LEDDERS! One of the Penguins "D's" (right) takes to the ice on Saturday a "grown up" after celebrating her 18th birthday the day before!
PINGU'S TAKE TO THE ICE U16's played their first game on the 21st September away at Bracknell. The first match of the season for them and also the first for them as a team. This was a great learning experience for the girls and they all left with SMILES!!!!
PENGUINS MIDLANDS SEASON NOW UNDERWAY The Penguins took on Wrekin Raiders for the first match of the season. The Penguins held the visitors close for the first to periods, but lack of match fitness took its toll and the match ended 2-7.
PENGUINS SEASON COMES TO AN END - The Penguins have played their last match of the season. But they are already focussing on Summer friendlies and next season. Training is continuing throughout the summer. So if you want to come and give ice hockey a go over the summer then come and see us. Kit can be provided if required.
PINGU'S!!! The Penguins are in the process of setting up an U16's team for the start of next season. The training session on the 28th May, 6:30pm is the session when we are encouraging all who are interested to come down to training.

PENGUINS COME OF AGE - The Penguins had their first ever training session on 11th May 1998. So this year sees them celebrating their 10th Birthday.

PENGUINS HOPE TO STAR ON TV!!! On Wednesday the 19th March, a few of the Penguins have been invited to the outdoor ice rink which has now moved to Cambridge. They will also have the chance to meet dancing on ice star Linda Lusardi along with her skating partner Daniel Whiston.
All the action kicks off around 12 mid-day so keep an eye out on the tv for us! (however we're not sure where and when this will be yet!)

NEXT MATCH is away at Nottingham on Sunday 27th January. This is followed the next week with a home match against Blackburn. If you are unable to make either matches then the period scores will be updated on the left hand side of the site.

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY FOR THE PENGUINS The Penguins festivities began on Sunday 23rd after a trip up to North Wales to take on the Flintshire Furies. The Penguins took the lead early on and were able to hang on for 60mins to record their first win in the Northern League! Everyone had a great game and deserved their efforts to be rewarded!!!!
PENGUINS XMAS MEAL took place on the 18th December. It was held at the Fragrance Chinese restuart and photos from the night can be viewed now on the site.
PENGUINS SCORE AT THE SQUAWS PLACE On the 16th December the Penguins travelled to Whitley Bay to take on the Squaws for the second time the season. With Emma Wildman and Jen King returned for the next couple of matches, it gives the Penguins a much needed boost.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR FROM THE PENGUINS! There will be no training over the festive period and will be back on 2nd January!
PENGUINS AT THE END OF AN ERA Coach Amanda after nearly ten years with the Penguins steps down as Coach.
Amanda took on Coaching duties several years ago when the Penguins were without. She combined playing and coaching and then stayed on once she retired from playing. Amanda has given alot to the team both on and off the ice and she will be missed. The team wishes her well for the future but leaves the door open for any comeback!?!? :)

PENGUINS ON THE ROAD IN DECEMBER - Two long distances road trips are the EIHA's gift to the Penguins just before Christmas with a trip up to Whitley on the 16th and Flintshire on the 23rd.

SHEFFIELD were the Penguins opponents Sunday 11th and saw the Penguins holding their hosts to a 0.0 score till half way through the match.
WHITLEY BAY were the Penguins first opposition of the new season. The Squaws will be travelled down to Peterborough for the match where rookie netminder Simone didnt a great job!!!

CLOSED SEASON - The Penguins will be having their closed season during the month of June. So will finish on the 30th May and start up again on the 4th July.
LAST MATCH OF THE SEASON is Saturday 19th in Billingham. This will see us say goodbye and good luck to netminder Angela who is retiring to new pastures, also known as field hockey! :)

PENGUINS played Billingham Wildcats but with goalie Ang' injured we knew it was gonna be tough. But Claire "Scary Mary" Woodthorpe, (right) was the one to step into the void, and despite not even been in goal before she did us proud!!! But we do wish Ang' a speedy recovery :)

PISTE PENGUINS the Penguins are not only known for their skating prowess on the ice they also have talents on the snow and many Penguins this month and last have been off on the slopes, some more successfull than others!!! :)
AND VAL MAKES THREE - The Penguins injury list continues as we have now suffered the third broken wrist of the season. Val went down doing a "good" job with it. We wish her the best for a good recovery.
TRAINING CANCELLED!!! - No training this week (21st Feb) Due to the Phantoms playing Slough at home. Traning continues as normal next week.
PENGUINS AT HOME - This Saturday sees the Penguins finally have a home match, it will be against Wrekin Raiders, who we played a couple of weeks ago with a short bench as we were hit with last minute illness etc. So this time we are looking for a better result with a full squad. GOODBYE GRACE - Today sees Grace Pold fly back home to the States. Grace has been with us since the summer last year whilst over her on a year out and flew over with goalie pads looking for a team. We wish Grace all the best for the future.
ACCIDENT PRONE PENGUINS - The Penguins are fragile creatures with over the past coupl eof months having a couple of broken wrists, a coach with a broken elbow, and the most recent is DMan Clare missing the match at the weekend due to injuring her ankle. We wish all those injured a speedy recovery and all those who are still in tact - hope it stays that way!!!! :)

2007 sees the Penguins now facing a steady stream of matches and a chance to try and improve their league standing. Up until not they have not faced too many matches due to cancellations etc.
THE FIRST MATCH OF 2007 sees the Penguins travelling to Telford on the 21st Jan to take on the Wrekin Raiders. You will be able to keep an eye on the Penfguins progress as the period scores will be wapped through to this site and can be seen in brackets under the fixture name on the left.
PENGUINS TRAVEL NORTH - Blackburn is the destination of the Penguins match. Its a 6:15pm face off, and you can keep tabs on the period scores by seeing them updated in the left hand column via wappy technology!
PENGUINS WENT TO THE STEEL CITY - See how the Penguins got on in there last match, which was against Sheffield Shadows.
MATCH RESCHEDULED!!! - The Penguins were due to play Flintshire Furies on the 5th November, the replacement date has now come through as 16th December, 6pm.
PENGUINS SEASON BEGINS! - The Penguins had their first league match of the new season on Saturday 7th October. Its was at home against Coventry Phoenix. A great performance was had by both teams and they were only let down by the ice as a hole forced the match to be abandoned with four minutes to go and the Penguins about to have a 3 on 5 Powerplay.

CARBOOTING ON BANK HOLS - Thank you to all those who purchased from the Penguins who were raising addition funds by doing a carboot stall on Sunday 28th May. Monies raised will go towards to match fees for the team next season.
END OF THE SEASON - The Penguins made the trip to Blackburn for the first time. The Penguins followed this the next day by travelling to Coventry for their final match of the season. An excellent peformance in both matches saw a very short Penguins bench put up an excellence fight (metaphorically speaking) against their hosts.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPTAIN JO! - who celebrates her birthday this Saturday. She obviously started celebrating a week earlier as she was photographed last week by the local newspaper whilst on on the town!
PENGUINS ROAD TRIP - The May Bank Holiday weekend saw the Penguins make the long journey up the A1 for matches against Whitley Bay Squaws and Billingham Wildcats. The Penguins went with a very short bench but they were sure they were gonna go and have some fun. GOODBYE EMMA! - Penguins loose their leading goal scorer and merchandise model for the second time in as many seasons, this time she is now heading off to Bahamas for a year. The team wishes her well!

GOODBYE LIANA - Our resident American Airforce Penguin (left) is returning back to the states on the 7th February. She came over here for a stint in 2000 but we are hoping we wont have to wait that long till she's back here again!
TELFORD CAME TO TOWN - The Wrekin Raiders came to Peterborough on the 28th January. After a two hour delay we finally managed to play.

CONGRATULATIONS - To Penguins defenceman Jenni Brown who gave birth to Baby Elizabeth on Friday 16th December, 7lbs 10. Mother and Baby are doing well. Photo is of Baby Elizabeth 11 days old.

WELCOME BACK!!! Liana Hammersley returns to the Penguins line up whilst she is over here with the RAF. Liana played with the Penguins several seasons ago.
A GREAT COMEBACK but it was not quite enough. Saturday 19th November saw the Penguins take on Blackburn Thunder for their first home match of the season. It was the debut match for many new players and saw a welcome return to Penguins colours for some.
TRAINING CANCELLED next Wednesday, 16th November for rink maintenance. Training is also cancelled in December, on the 14th.
AT LAST!!! The season is back underway, after a long break since our first two matches the Penguins started up again this Sunday with a match against Premier side the Bracknell Queen Bees. The Penguins were not surprised with the result of the match, especially as they only had 9 players available and that included dressing one of the goalies as an outfield player!!!
COMING HOME This weekend see the Penguins take on Blackburn Thunder for their first home match of the season. These two teams met for the first time back in May at the MK tournament which the Penguins won 1-0. So this match looks to be a good 'un!!!! All supporters are welcome and as always entry is free!
HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY SOPHIE One or our newest players is celebrated her 17th birthday on Wednesday 9th November. She will also be taking part in her first Penguin match on Saturday against Blackburn.

A GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!! The first league match for the Penguins was against the Wrekin Raiders. The Penguins made the journey to Telford to play their first match in the Northern League with one of the shortest benches ever. But a great effort by the team even resulted in some goals!!! PENGUINS OUT "GRRRRR" THE BEARS This was the first match of thee season and a Knockout Cup draw against the Basingstoke Bears saw a trip down south for the Penguins. A great performance from the whole team saw the be rewarded with the first win of the season and through to the second round where they will meet Bracknell Queens Bees. EBAY - Penguins are trying to boost their club funds for the forthcoming season by selling items on ebay. If you would like to help you can either donate something to sell and we'll go 50/50 with any profits raised or you could buy something from us.
CONGRATULATIONS SHARON (& SAMI)!!! On Friday the 29th July Sharon gave birth to baby Jennifer who weighed 8lb and 13oz, length 55cm!!!. Mother and baby are well and the team is looking forward to seeing their new recruit on the ice?!?!?
PENGUINS v BEARS The Penguins may of moved into the Northern league but they will still 
be playing the Basingstoke Bears as they have been drawn away against them in the Knockout Cup. This match is this Sunday and the Penguins will make the trek down south for possible the one and only time this season. Scores will be updated (hopefully) at the end of each period and will appear on the left.
PENGUINS MOVE NORTH - The Penguins have been moved along with Coventry Phoenix to the Div 1 North for the forthcomng season. The playoff weekend saw confirmation that the Northern League will consist of Blackburn Thunder, Billingham Wildcats, Coventry Phoenix, Nottingham Vipers, Peterborough Penguins, Sheffield Shadows, Whitley Bay Squaws, and Wrekin Raiders.

Invicta are now however saything they are unable to make the earilier time so a provisonal date is being looked into of 15th May 4:30pm
This coming Saturday 16th the Penguins take on Romford Nighthawks who have lost their position as league champions as they are struggling this season. Will the Penguins cause an upset? Face off 5:45pm why not come along and find out.
PENGUINS WIN THE DIVISION ONE SOUTHERN LEAGUE Sportsmanship Award.
This award has been given in recognition of the sporting as the team has conducted it 2004/05 campaign in Division One South. It has been a season of transition with several regular skaters being unavailable for parts of the season, and it is good to see all of our hard work being recognized which has culminated in the giving of this trophy.

FIXTURES - The Penguins were unable to have enough players to make a team for Sunday's match against Streatham so Streatham were automatically awarded the 5-0 win. However so the icetime was not wasted Penguins travelled to Streatham and played a Challenge Match with Streatham helping out with the numbers. Streatham are doing the return leg this coming Saturday. NOTE Face Off time has changed to 6:15pm and not 5:45pm to enable the Phantoms to have an extra training session.
